O Brother Where Art Thou?
My favorite part of O' Brother Where Art Thou? Was probably all of the hair gel he was obsessed with. I also really liked the singing that the three guys did. I thought it was really funny, and it was fun to watch. I thought a lot of it really didn't relate to the Odyssey, I mean yeah there were a few subtle hints, but over all I really don't think that this could be completely based off the Odyssey. In the end He doesn't even find the ring, like he shot through the arrows. I thought that was a little rediculous.

Epic Similie
She stands patiently, hand on the window sill. Time passes slowly like the last day of school watching the clock tick down to the last seccond until summer can finally begin. The teacher seems to go in slow-mo talking about summer reading. The clock almost seems to begin to run backwards as she stares up, away from the window. The door bell finally rings.

Movie Project
Well, as of right now, we have not yet succeded on planning and talking about our movie. Jamie, Katey, Alessa and I are making a movie. What I know so far is that I have the video camera and I can edit. We will for sure get our planning done at school, and get together after school. With most of our sports ended, this should be fairly simple to get together.
So far what needs to be planned out is the place, time, music, script, scene actions, etc. And it will turn out perfectlyy I know it.

Romeo and Juliet Video
I chose this video because I think that it demonstrates the prolog excellently. My "Twilight" version fits, and I think really shows the love between them. The prolog, and other vocals from the Leonardo DeCaprio version fits quite nicely as well. My favorite is that you can see the passion between "Bella and Edward" like you would in the movie versions of Romeo and Juliet.

Photograph
This photograph relates to Romeo and Juliet in the sense that alone and that since they can't be together in the public eye, they have to go to a more secluded place. Hence the grassy field. Plus the two in the picture are holding hands signifying Romeo and Juliet's love. The fact that they are walking away, is also another example of Romeo and Juliet walking away therefore showing that they don't care what anyone (like their parents) think about them and being married.
This Picture was taken by Andrea Clark at Jordan French's step-grandparents house. In this photograph is me, and Jordan French. =]

Romeo & Juliet Comparisons
Based on what I have read so far, I would say that Juliet is a young and timid, but still very beautiful girl. Although, I think she is childish as well, since she is supposed to be about fourteen. I picture her with long dark hair, porcelin skin, and green eyes. Also, if I met her, I would guess that she would be a shy person. Just from the context, and how she talks to her mother. Then again, I would also guess that she is mature after her encounter with Romeo.
Well, I would have to compare Mercutio to Jamie Tuggle. Mercutio seems like he could be annoying, and very outgoing. He's not afraid to state his opinion, by saying that Romeo's bad dream is nothing. He makes up stories about Queen Mab, and is very outspoken. Plus he's ready to party and dance, and tries to get others around him to do the same. Just like Jamie. =]

Premonitions
I've had some wierd experiences when it comes to thinking something bad was going to happen, and it usually does. In seventh grade, I can remember being at a choir concert. I got a twitch in my eye, and by that, I knew something was wrong. At first I thought maybe I was going crazy. But it was one of those things that I just had a gut feeling that something bad happened or was going to happen. When the concert was over, I ran up to my mom and stepdad and told them something bad happened but I didn't know what. They kind of brushed it off and I didn't persue it.
At dinner my mom got a phone call from my grandma saying that my cousin, and bestfriend, Kyla, had ran away. It was horrible. Then her running away led to a lot of other things, and our relationship was never really the same after. She didn't come home after school, so in retrospect, there was really nothing I could have done. But still, just my eye twitching sends shivers up my spine.

Shakespearean themes
In She's the Man, I think that the movie relates to Shakespear's A Mid-Summer Night's Dream. This had mistaken identity, a love triangle, and star-crossed lovers. This highschool staged Shakespearean themed movie involves a girl, pretending she's her brother while she goes to a soccer summer camp. The guy that she loves, loves her sister which is really her, but shes pretending to be her brother. And many other love triangles within there.
In my comic strip, I used mistaken identity, and a love triangle in my plot. Pretty girl, Mildrid, and ugly hag, Jamie are in love with Prince Carter. Prince Carter loves Mildrid. But then a fairy decides to have some fun and makes Carter fall in love with Jamie. But then Mildrid kills Jamie and the fairy's magic is broken. And everything is lovely, except for the death of the beloved wench, Jamie. =]

Shakespeare
Right now, I am really excited to read Romeo and Juliet. Although I only saw the begining of A Midsummer Night's Dream, I feel more able to understand the dialect. It is pretty hard to understand them though. I really wish people would talk like that on a daily basis. The way that they talk, makes me want to listen. It's like when someone has a really cool accent, you just want them to keep talking. What I know of Romeo and Juliet is basically that they died tragically. That he pretended to be poisoned, she walked in, saw him poisoned and then killed herself. But I also know that this tragic love story is also more than just that. I'm really excited, I know that I will enjoy reading this book.

Animal Farm

What I like about his book, is how symbolic it is to the Russian Revolution. Normally I would learn about something like the revolution, but not understand it. But this way, it is easier to follow with the animals. I almost feel like I'm in elementry school with books about Animals, however these books always had pictures.
My thoughts on the characters' meaning and actions would be that they are right to rebel. Just as the communists were right to rebel. Mr. Jones was mean, and uncaring, and only used the animals for his work. They didn't get to eat the crops, infact, they barely get to eat at all. However the pigs need to not get so power-hungry, like they are becoming. I think that this will end badly for the animal farm if they get too full of themselves.
